Upon arrival, an overnight stay at the Mar de Plata, and then onto the first of five walking stages of the ‘Camino Frances‘ to Santiago de Compostela through the Spanish community of Galicia. Beautiful, verdant woodland paths and gravel tracks edged with historic dry stone walling characterise this stage. Passing the 100 km marker near A Peña with final hilltop views overlooking Portomarin, forest paths and tree lined lanes pass through delightful Galician hamlets offering a taste of much to come.
