Dunquin - Smerwick Harbour - Feohanagh
Departing Gleann Dearg B&B in Dunquin, having spent a Guinness fuelled evening in Krugers Bar, the most westerly bar in mainland Europe, the Way now follows the cliff top path across grassland to gently descend to the magnificent Cloghers beach with art gallery, cafe and the Louis Mulcathy Pottery situated close by. The Three Sisters dominate the horizon and will continue to do so through our next days walking as well. Fields and pasture characterise this section prior to arriving at the long winding open sandy beach of Smerwick Harbour. Delightful walking on the beach at low tide almost brings us near full circle to arrive at Ballydavid for welcome refreshment. The last leg, taking the lovely herbaceous cliff top path, provides tantalising views of our overnight destination at Feohanagh and the impressive Brandon Mountain, tomorrow's impending objective.
