Annascaul - Lispole - Dingle: 22.5 km (14.0 miles)
Arriving at Kerry Airport (Faranfore) we transit to Annascaul to stopover at Teac Seein before our first day walking on the Way. Having suppered that night at the South Pole, dedicated to the intrepid Irish explorer Tom Crean, we now take tranquil country lanes leading towards Minard Castle ruins and a dramatic view of the cove and views across to the Iveragh Penninsular. A steady climb and meandering country roads then allow us to reach Lispole viaduct and a stop for refreshment. Crossing the Owenalondrig river and ascending to 160m into the hillside following farm boreens and field paths brings us to the Connor Pass road and then the final long and straight gentle descent into bustling Dingle and its sheltered harbour.
(Total ascent 340m)
