Greenford to South Kenton - 5.5 miles (8.8 km)
Upon leaving Greenford station and picking up the footpath through Paradise Fields, this walk reunites with the Grand Union Canal once again. Within a mile the old humped Ballot Box fridge takes the path onto the ascent of Horsenden Hill (84m) which provides a lovely viewpoint of Greater London. Descending through ancient forest, an urban section of the path finds Ridding lane and on up into Harrow on the Hill via Piggy Lane. The old village sits at a high point on the Ring at 105 m and the furthest radius from Charing Cross at 10 miles. Much history is evident here in Norman, Tudor and Victorian buildings including Harrow school itself. A descent into the playing fields is rewarded with views back up the ‘Hill’. The final leg takes the path along a golf course and into Northwick playing fields and then finally terminates at South Kenton station.
